A separate, private dining room features wine-cellar décor and is available for special events and gatherings. Just outside the main dining room, the PY Bar welcomes guests with classic and signature cocktails created by our own master mixologists. Carlos Ochoa, Chef de Cuisine

Born in Cananea, Sonora Mexico, Carlos grew up eating fresh produce from his grandmother’s garden and butchered animals with my uncles in the backyard. His first industry experience was as a teenager at a local resort which solidified his love for cooking. Humble but well-made food added a near-magical quality to the experience that diners enjoyed. Upon relocating to the U.S., Carlos was fortunate to acquire an apprenticeship at an Italian restaurant in Chicago. This led to stages at the renowned Per se and Alinea restaurants. Now calling Tucson home, Carlos has had the opportunity to work with ingredients specific to the Sonoran Desert and create dishes that represent this dynamic region. Though trained in various cuisines, “my heart belongs to the Sonoran Desert and the vibrant and unique ingredients the desert has to offer.” Chef Ochoa brings together classic fine dining with local integrity to PY Steakhouse at Casino Del Sol.
