Jan. 13, 2016 – Tucson’s premier entertainment destination, Casino Del Sol Resort, has continued to add to its impressive lineup of exciting casino events with the debut of the Arizona Champion of Slots Tournament, the only slot tournament of its kind in the state.

An event nearly a year in the making, qualifying tournaments were held on “Slot Tournament Tuesdays” from Oct. through Dec. at Casino Del Sol and its sister property, Casino of the Sun. Each event determined the Club Sol members who would participate in the championship showdown at the end of the year.

Close to 650 players participated in the Inaugural Arizona Champion of Slots Tournament on Dec. 29. The participants battled it out on the casino’s extensive collection of slot machines until 50 semifinalists remained. After the top ten participants were determined, fierce competition ensued until only one player prevailed.

Club Sol member, Eric F. was crowned the 2015 Arizona Champion of Slots. In addition to taking home $10,000, Eric now has a first place trophy to commemorate his historic win, two tickets to every concert at the award-winning AVA Amphitheater for the 2016 season, as well as a reserved parking space in the Casino Del Sol Resort VIP parking area for an entire year.
